STUDIO ZABIN was named for designer Dorothy Muldoon’s grandmother, a woman with a discerning eye and a penchant for pushing furniture around.

After graduating from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Dorothy began her career working for acclaimed architecture and design practice ASHE + LEANDRO. She then transitioned to a Senior Designer role at Lucy Harris Studio, where she honed her skills as a designer and project manager. In 2016, she opened her own practice.

Dorothy’s work is rooted in memory, narrative, and the unexpected. Her designs consider the character and integrity of each piece. Drawing inspiration from art, travel, and history, she delivers a distinctive aesthetic.
